The Team at Galbally Parker are pleased to announce the promotion of Ruth Parker to the role of Partner effective as of 1 July 2018.
Ruth has worked within our office since September 2007, when she started as a law clerk and trained under the tutelage of Robert Galbally and Brian Rolfe until Brian’s retirement in March 2013. Since that time, she has worked as a Senior Associate within the firm, both in Victoria and New South Wales, and now becomes the first female Partner in Galbally Parker’s history.
The following article appeared in The Daily Telegraph reporting Ruth’s appointment:
She’s a partner in crime
She got Mustafa Dib out of Jail, another man cleared of a gang shooting and helped ex-gang boss Muhammed Hamzy beat a murder rap.
Now Ruth Parker, the go-to defence Lawyer for some of Sydney’s high-profile crooks, is cracking the glass ceiling.
Ms Parker has become the first female partner in Melbourne-based firm Galbally Parker’s history, and next year will become principal at the city’s oldest exclusively criminal law firm.
“I am very proud to be the first female partner in it’s 42 year history and to have further expanded our practice into NSW”, she said.
“It’s important not just that women do these things but that they are seen to do these things”, Ms Parker said.
“It’s the only way my daughter and all of the young women out there will see that we don’t need to choose between being a professional woman, a mother or a partner. We can be all of it”.
